Linda Casey Named New State Forester

Linda S. Casey, a recently retired longtime employee of International Paper was sworn-in as Alabama's new State Forester by Gov. Bob Riley on January 12, 2007.     Linda officially takes over as head of the Alabama Forestry Commission on February 1. Ms. Casey brings to her position a wealth of experience in private industry, including over 30-years working for IP, now the largest paper company in the world. In the position she recently retired from at IP, Linda was manager of a wood procurement budget of $500 million and 150 employees.
    Linda worked in a variety of positions with IP, including service as the Selma Operations Area Manager in which she was responsible for all functions of wood fiber procurement and supply for Riverdale Mill, Maplesville and Tuskalusa Wood Product facilities.
    We welcome Linda to this exciting new venture and wish her every success as Alabama's new State Forester.
