Qualifications:
Required:
· An earned Ph.D. degree at the time of hire with an emphasis in forest landscape ecology.
· Ability to teach undergraduate silviculture
· Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated success in publishing in refereed journals
· Evidence of excellence in university-level teaching
· Strong potential for designing and conducting competitive-sourced research
· Expertise in GIS applications
· Familiarity with North American forest ecosystems
Desired:
· A willingness to work on interdisciplinary research teams
· Experience in silviculture and/or related natural resource discipline and skills
Rank and Salary: This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track, 50% teaching, and 50% research position. Salary is negotiable and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Department of Natural Resource Sciences: The department is dedicated to advancing natural resource research, education, and outreach. We offer interdisciplinary majors in wildlife ecology, natural resources, and forestry. This position is one of four the department expects to fill in the next two years. The Department has education and hands-on research facilities including the Wildlife Habitat Nutrition Laboratory; the Steffen Center Research Facility; the Bear Research, Education, and Conservation Center; the Large Carnivore Conservation Laboratory; the Wild Ungulate Research Facility, the Colockum Multiple-Use Research Unit; and other greenhouse and outdoor ecological laboratories.
