Clemson University Extension Forestry Faculty Grows

Clemson Extension forestry welcomed Dr. Puskar Khanal to its Extension Forestry faculty in August, 2016.

The Department of Forestry and Environmental Conservation at Clemson University recently welcomed a new Extension team member, Dr. Puskar Khanal. Dr. Khanal joined the team in August 2016 as an Assistant Professor of forest management and economics. His Extension responsibilities include developing an active Extension and outreach program that promotes best practices to landowners and managers in South Carolina.

Before joining Clemson, Dr. Khanal received his Ph.D in Forest Economics from Mississippi State University and an M.S. in Forest Resources from Louisiana State University and was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Forestry and Wildland Resources at Humboldt State University, California. Dr. Khanal specializes in forest management and economics, certification, urban forestry, carbon trading, and ecosystem service valuation.
