array('c', 'Call for Papers – First AnnouncementDescription:Extension, technology transfer, outreach, knowledge transfer and science application are terms that have one thing in common: providing old and new knowledge to those who can use it to improve their individual, family and community well-being. This may involve conveying highly technical science findings to non-science audiences, engaging participants in peer-to-peer learning opportunities, providing information to broad sectors of society, or working with the media to deliver information in ways that readers and listeners find useful. This Side Event will comprise a series of presentations followed by a discussion period focused on participant questions, comments, and experiences. Papers Requested:Papers are requested that address one or more of the following:•New concepts for conveying science-based information to relevant user groups•Motivators for users to accept and adopt new knowledge and practices•Traditional approaches and innovative technologies for reaching users•Using media to inform and educate the public about important forest issuesWho May Participate:Contributions from all persons and organizations involved in forest-related technology transfer and extension are encouraged to submit abstracts:•Extension professionals,•Development workers, researchers, •Officials and decision makers from government and non-government organizations,•Representatives of regional, national, and international forest owner organizations, and •Science writers and media representatives who transfer new knowledge to users Instructions for Submitting Abstracts:To ensure timely and efficient review, abstracts must be prepared and submitted in the following manner:•Prepare the abstract using a word processing software, such as Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect (Word is preferred)•Format for the abstract:oFirst line – Title of PresentationoSecond line – Author (s).
