Wysocki Joins Plant and Animal Systems Unit
Move Consolidates EDEN within CSREES Homeland Security Program
Joseph Wysocki, long time CSREES national program leader, has joined the Plant and Animal Systems (PAS) unit staff. This move allows PAS to further consolidate the CSREES Homeland Security program by bringing in EDEN, the Extension Disaster Education Network. EDEN is a collaborative multi-state effort by Extension Services across the country to improve delivery of educational resources and other services to reduce the impact of natural and man-made disasters. Wysocki has been the CSREES point of contact working with EDEN since its inception. In addition to EDEN, he will focus on environmental health and safety, energy, and the economics of housing.
Wysocki received his Ph.D. in Consumer Economics and Housing from Cornell University. He joined CSREES in 1991 as the national program leader for Housing and Environment. Prior to his CSREES service, he was an extension housing specialist for 14 years at the Pennsylvania State University and the University of Illinois, where he also served as head of the Department of Family and Consumer Economics.
