Invasive species has become a significant environmental and ecological issue in urban forest. In this presentation, we will share our findings of how to assess invasive plants with remote sensing technique and statistical modeling. The first half of the presentation will focus on the use of object-based classification method to map Lonicera maackii using high resolution photos and its potential advantages over traditional medium resolution satellite images. The second half will focus on using statistical models to predict invasive distribution and understand the influence of social and environmental factors on the distribution of invasive plants.
