2007 Master Tree Farmer Program to focus on planning for the future owner

— filed under:

Organizers of the 2007 installment of the award-winning Master Tree Farmer Series will be preparing a special three segment program on intergenerational forestland transfer and planning issues.

The 2007 course will be held Tuesday evenings from 7 pm to 10 pm Eastern Time beginning February 20 and continue until March 6th.  The three-week session will focus on such issues as estate planning, intergenerational transfer strategies, planning options, conservation easements, transfer of development rights and other issues which todays forest owner must consider when thinking about the future.  Experts in this field from around the country will present the latest information on these topics and more.  They will also be available via 1-800 phone lines and the internet to answer questions that natural resource professionals, tax experts, financial planners, accountants, forest owners and others have about these issues.

This will be a satellite course broadcast from the studios of Clemson University, South Carolina and available to anyone with satellite downlink capabilities.  Options for live streaming via the internet are also being investigated. Stay tuned to this website or contact Bill Hubbard at whubbard@uga.edu, 706-542-7813 or George Kessler at gksslr@clemson.edu, for more information or to ensure there is a download site near you!
