Call for Papers: IUFRO Divsion VI Symposium: Integrative Science for Integrative Management

— filed under:

IUFRO Session 6.06.01 - Seeing Climate Policy Through the Trees, Saariselk\xc3\xa4, Finland, August 14–20, 2007. Due March 16, 2007.

Session Description:

Global climate change and the role of forests is rapidly emerging as one of the defining issues of the early 21st century. Some areas of research and technology development include carbon sequestration by forests, carbon allocation among forests and wood products from forests, renewable energy development, and policy development. Extending the knowledge gained in these research arenas has created the need for forestry researchers to address often nontraditional audiences or to address familiar audiences regarding topics often not associated with forests and forestry. Examples of new audiences or familiar audiences to whom new topics are being addressed include energy engineers; non-wood-product corporations; public regulators dealing with air quality, energy supply, and land-use planning; those involved with the emerging carbon markets; and the general public.

Paper Topics:

Papers addressing technology transfer in these arenas will be both openly and selectively invited. Selection of papers and accompanying presentations will be based on innovation of approaches and successful results.

Submission of abstracts:

Abstracts should be limited to 300 words, and contain the title, the names and contact information for all the authors, and short description of content of presentation. Please follow the technical instructions of abstracts:
