eXtension Invites Participation in Frequently Asked Questions

On July 5, 2006 eXtension launched its Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) initiative for use by all Cooperative Extension Service professionals.

Weve had a tremendous response with more than 2,600 persons registering for eXtension IDs and then working in the FAQ application. If youre one of those who have done so, we want to thank you for registering and using the eXtension FAQ system and visiting at http://faq.eXtension.org. We appreciate your help as we make this system a rich source of information for your Extension colleagues nationwide.

If you havent had a chance to participate yet just go to http://people.extension.org, get your eXtension ID, and then go to http://faq.eXtension.org and jump right in!

We have recently added an additional 5,000 horticultural questions to the system, and were working to add more FAQs all the time. We invite you to feel free to not only find answers to questions you have, but also to share your expertise by adding to or editing answers. The more we all use it the better the system will be.

We encourage all of you to:

  • Add new FAQs. If a question comes to you that is not in the database please enter it so that we have it captured.
  • Answer incoming questions. Brief answers are better than no answer at all.
  • Use the "preferences" setting to limit the searches and browsing to those areas where you have an interest.
  • Edit and improve on FAQs already in the system. Add to the information and provide links to other quality information.
  • Organize your colleagues to enter FAQs around new and emerging content areas.
  • Give us feedback so that we can make the FAQ application better.
