Forest Service - SGSF Liaison named
Fred Allen to serve as liaison with the Southern Group of State Foresters.
I am very pleased to inform you that the Southern Research Station has contracted with Fred Allen to serve as a liaison with the Southern Group of State Foresters (SGSF). Fred retired this summer after 34 years with the State of Georgia where he served as State Forester for many years.In his new role as SGSF liaison with the Southern Research Station, Fred will keep Southern State Foresters up to date on new findings from our scientists and plans for future research emphasis. Equally important, Fred will help the Southern Station better serve the science needs of the states by keeping the Station informed about concerns and issues that Southern State Foresters are addressing.Fred brings with him a wealth of experience in Forestry and natural resource management, including years of service as research coordinator for the Georgia Forestry Commission. He will be based out of his home office in Gray, Georgia.
