Louisiana Extension Forester wins National Award

Ricky Kilpatrick has been honored by Project Learning Tree (R) (PLT), the environmental education program of the American Forest Foundation, with a PLT Gold Star Award.

The PLT Gold Star Award is the highest honor given by PLT to a PLT program coordinator in recognition of their years of service.  Kilpatrick is currently the Louisiana PLT co-coordinator and an area forester with the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service of the Louisiana State University (LSU) Agricultural Center.  He has worked with school systems and universities to make PLT a part of their curriculum and has conducted nearly 100 PLT professional development workshops.  Kilpatrick received his bachelor's degree in forest management from LSU in 1983 and received his master's degree in forest resources from the University of Georgia in 1985.  Congratulations Ricky!
