Louisiana welcomes new Area Extension Forester

Keith Hawkins has joined the Louisiana Extension as an Area Extension Forester for the Southwest region.

Keith returns to Louisiana from Randolph County, GA, holding the position of ANR agent.  Previously, he worked at LSU’s School of Renewable Natural Resources, and also as a service forester in Virginia and Texas for ten years. During that time, he was also a wildland firefighter in Montana, Nevada, and Idaho. He was also a paid canoe guide in the Big Thicket of Texas. While Keith was in Baton Rouge, he was able to be an extra in “Glory Road” and “Dukes of Hazzard” movies.
