Myers Named Associate Deputy Chief, National Forest System

Charles "Chuck" Myers is returning to the Washington Office to become Associate Deputy Chief, National Forest System.

Since August of 2005, Chuck has served as Regional Forester of the Forest Service’s Southern Region, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. He has also served in several headquarters positions, including Director of Forest Management, National Leader for the Process Streamlining project, and Assistant Director of Recreation, and played a lead role on behalf of the agency on the implementation of the Healthy Forest Restoration Act. Chuck brings a wealth of experience and accomplishments to his new leadership role and I look forward to working with him in this capacity. Tom Peterson, currently the Deputy Regional Forester, Southern Region, has agreed to serve as Acting Regional Forester until a replacement is named.
