New Extension Forester In The Region!

University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service has a new Forestry Extension Instructor.

Originally from Meridian, Mississippi, Kyle Cunningham received a B.S. in Forest Management from Mississippi State University in 2001 and a M.S. in Forestry with an emphasis on upland hardwood management from MSU in 2003. With a background in forest herbicide research and forest inventory, Kyle's thesis involved creating a computer-based, decision-making model for managing or regenerating upland hardwood stands in the South.

Kyle began working for the UACES as an Extension Forestry Instructor in April of 2004. His responsibilities primarily include program development and delivery for the upland hardwood regions in North and West Arkansas with state wide responsibilities that will include pine management as well. Some of the programs he will be involved with will include evaluating the management potential of upland hardwood stands and different aspects of regeneration and intermediate management for upland hardwood stands. Kyle is excited about working in forestry extension in Arkansas and the southern region.
