New SREF App MyFence A Fast & Easy Way to Size & Price Fencing
Athens, Georgia - May 4, 2018 The office of Southern Regional Extension Forestry is pleased to announce that myFence, a new mobile application that aids in the pricing and sizing of fencing, is now available for iPhone and iPad on the iOS operating system and can be downloaded at the Apple App Store. myFence provides a fast and easy method for sizing and pricing fencing for farms, homes and businesses. The user provides simple input such as the total length of fencing needed, the number of gates and post spacing, and the calculator returns estimates on materials needed and costs. The user can then refine the results by providing actual costs once he or she purchases the necessary materials.
SREF developed myFence at the request of Extension Agents in Georgia, and funding was provided by AgTap Program, a collaboration between the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the UGA College of Engineering. Designed to be user friendly and universally applicable, myFence will be useful for anyone that is interested in building their own fence, including homeowners, farmers, ranchers and small businesses.
