The publication, The Woods in Your Backyard: Learning to Create and Enhance Natural Areas Around Your Home, was released in fall of 2006. The publication was a joint effort of the extension organizations of Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. A variety of educational resources have been developed to supplement the publication including powerpoints, an introductory video, workshop formats and more. All these resources are available for download.
The
publication has sold for $18 but discounts up to 40% are available. It
has been offered for sale from the Natural Resource Agricultural
Engineering Service at Cornell University in Ithaca,
NY.
Two printings of the publication have been completed and 6000 copies
sold. It is now out of print and NRAES would like to reprint the
publication but needs
preorders to keep the costs down.
The
approximate cost per copy will depend on how many are printed. I am
hoping to print 2000 copies which would require about 1500 preorder
copies, leaving 500 for later distribution. I would
suggest using $12 per copy in your estimates. The timeline for the
reprint will depend on many factors but it should be completed in 2-3
month. Depending on the response, I will let you know the final price
per copy. However, I will assume the total dollar
amount will not change unless you indicate otherwise when we contact
you for payment of the preorder.

2500 --- $11 per copy
3000 --- $10.30 per copy
3500 --- $9.80 per copy
4000 -- $9.50 per copy
