Sarah Ashton Joins Southern Regional Biomass Training Initiative
Sarah Ashton, a recent graduate of Virginia Tech (Master's of Science degree in Forest Science) has accepted a position with the Southern Forest Biomass Training Initiative.
This Initiative is a DOE-USDA-NRCS funded project co-managed by several partners including the Southern Forest Research Partnership, the Southern Regional Extension Forestry Office, the USDA Forest Service and several Southern Land-Grant Universities including the University of Georgia and Texas A&M University.
Sarah will be managing several aspects of the project including development of fact sheets and educational materials for use by the natural resource profession and forest owners in the Southern United States. Sarahs has experience in working with NGOs, Extension and forest cooperatives. In addition to the biomass training opportunities, Sarah will be assisting with a host of other Southern Regional Extension Forestry programs and projects.
