Virginia's Primary Forest Products Mills now on PFPN
The Virginia Department of Forestry's latest directory of primary forest products mills is now published online at the Primary Forest Products Locator Network. The directory lists 178 mills that produce 'renewable' products from harvested hardwood and softwood trees. Products produced range from lumber, chips, wood panels, and paper to many other forms of primary products.
The Primary Forest Products Network, provided by the Southern Group of State Foresters and Southern Regional Extension Forestry, serves to assist local and global buyers with locating primary wood product manufactures in the southeastern United States. The Network can also assist southeastern forest managers and landowners with locating potential buyers for their standing timber.
The Network's website, ForestProductsLocator.org, contains contact information for primary forest products mills & manufactures in 11 of the southeastern United State and the Network's database provides search capabilities in both list and map format. Additional resources about your state's forest mills can be found by contacting your local state forester at SoutherForests.org.
