This year the ACES Community, Ecosystem Markets Conference, and Ecosystem Services Partnership will all join together in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to form one of the world's largest meetings on Ecosystem Services. The conference will provide an open forum to share experiences and state-of-the-art methods, tools, and processes for assessing and incorporating ecosystem services into public and private decisions. The focus of the conference will be to link science, practice, institutions and resource sustainable decision making by bringing together ecosystem services communities from around the United States and the globe.

Program Overview

The conference will be comprised of:

  • Pre-conference workshops, providing in-depth presentations on applied topics
  • Plenary sessions, featuring ecosystem services leaders and keynote presenters
  • Traditional concurrent sessions, comprised of 20 minute speaker talks accompanied by PowerPoint Presentations
  • World Cafe sessions, rotating education stations providing non-traditional presentations and interactive learning opportunities
  • Town Hall meetings, fostering collaboration and new ideas
  • Poster Sessions, featuring ongoing and recently-completed projects and results
  • Post-conference tours, offering participants an opportunity to explore some of the local ecosystem services and natural areas
 

Registration

Program registration and fee collection will take place online. In addition to full program participation, the program registration fee provides registration materials and a book of abstracts, as well as morning, mid-day and afternoon refreshments. Additional fees are required for pre-conference workshops, post-conference tours, and accommodating a guest. Fees have not yet been posted to the event's registration page, so please check back often for updates.

A graduate student fellowship covering travel and registration fees is available. Interested parties should visit the application page for more information.  Fellowship applications are due by July 31, 2012


Accommodations

The conference will be held at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. A group rate of $124 per night is offered, provided reservations are made by Friday, November 16, 2012. Guests are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible, as the reserved conference block is expected to fill up quickly. Call for Proposals

Proposals will be collected for pre-conference workshops, organized concurrent sessions, World CafĂ© sessions, Town Hall meetings, and post-conference tours.  Individual abstracts are required for all organized sessions, individual oral submissions, and poster session submissions.
