The 2015 Chilton Area Peach Production Meeting will be held on Monday January 27th at the Alabama Power Company Building, 2030 7th St. S (US Hwy 31 just north of I-65 Exit 205) in Clanton.
Dr. Wayne Mitchem, North Carolina State University Researcher and Extension Associate will discuss weed management in orchards, with updates on new herbicide options and research with various herbicide strip widths and drip irrigation in new orchards.
Other topics include CREC fruit research updates, Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Conference and more.
This meeting is free and open to the public. Meeting sponsors include the Chilton County Farmers Federation, Clanton Lions Club, Garrison Farm and Home Center, and the Alabama Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association.
