Developing a Wildlife Habitat Management Plan Webcast, Clemson Forestry and Natural Resources Extension

The webinar is a cooperative outreach effort between the SFI, Inc. and Clemson University for forest landowners interested in managing wildlife on lands. Special emphasis will be placed on considerations and steps for developing and implementing a wildlife habitat management plan on forest and agricultural lands.

Some of the topics highlighted during the webcast include 1) identifying management objectives, 2) resource inventory tools (such as Web Soil Survey), 3) designating management units, 4) determining and implementing habitat improvement practices, 4) record keeping and evaluation, and 5) available resources.

 

This webcast builds upon the previous webcast Wildlife Habitat Improvement Practices for Landowners that was held October 19, 2011. The October 19 webcast can be viewed at http://connect.clemson.edu/p18472181/.  Both webcasts provide the foundation for a more comprehensive 2-day workshop that will be held at Clemson University and Clemson’s Experimental Forest on February 6-8, 2012.
