Description: This field day will show you that there are many more days throughout the year to burn, including during the growing season. Join us to learn about fire behavior and plant response to burning during the growing season. You will learn about prescribed burn plans, fireguards, weather parameters, equipment, labor and contingency plans among other topics. The most important way to safely burn is to gain experience conducting burns. If weather parameters are within prescription during the field day, we will attempt multiple burns to give you real experience conducting management burns.

Description: This workshop will focus in-depth on the management strategies for recreational fish ponds. Participants will be exposed to information and techniques to properly manage fish ponds for good fishing, controlling aquatic vegetation, and managing nuisance wildlife around the pond. This workshop will include a combination of inside presentations and live-demonstrations at the lake onsite.

Description: A Private Applicator uses or supervises the use of any pesticide for producing any agricultural commodity on property owned or rented, or on the property of another person if applied without compensation. This is a testing period after studying the Study Manual in order to provide the Private Applicator permit to the participant after scoring at least 70.
