Description: This program empowers concerned residents to make dramatic strides towards restoring and caring for the tree canopy in their communities. It is designed for community volunteers, municipal arborists, shade tree commissions, and anyone else interested in urban forest care. Since 1993 PHS has trained over 4,500 Tree Tenders in 150 Pennsylvania neighborhoods. ISA Arborist CEUs will be provided for those that attend live sessions.
The training on this day is "How Trees Work".

Description: The 2022 Extension Leadership Conference, hosted by the Joint Council of Extension Processionals (JCEP) will take place February 9-10 in Kansas City, MO. The theme is “Reflect, Reconnect, Recharge”.

Description: The theme of this meeting will be “Dirty Forestry: Seed to Stump”. Talks will include: Successful Stand Establishment, Remote Sensing in Forestry, Forest Literacy Frameworks, and more. As usual, there will be a forestry student quiz bowl. Registration will close January 19th. The meeting will take place February 9-11, 2022 at the Calloway Resort and Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia.

This webinar series is designed to inform and equip green industry professionals with the knowledge and skills to provide additional natural area management services to clientele while also improving ecosystem health. This is held by the Louisiana State University (LSU) Agriculture Center, in partnership with The LA Ecological Forestry Center (LEAF), the SW LA Forestry Association, the LSU AgCenter, the LA Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF), and the LA Department of Wildlife & Fisheries (LDWF). This school provides training for forest landowners so that they may burn their lands in a safe, legal manner. Topics will include fuels, burning techniques, proper tools, optimal weather conditions, smoke management, liability management, planning, fire behavior and more.
