2022 LA Prescribed Burning School
The 2022 Louisiana Prescribed Burn School was recently announced. This is held by the Louisiana State University (LSU) Agriculture Center, in partnership with The LA Ecological Forestry Center (LEAF), the SW LA Forestry Association, the LSU AgCenter, the LA Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF), and the LA Department of Wildlife & Fisheries (LDWF). This school provides training for forest landowners so that they may burn their lands in a safe, legal manner. Topics will include fuels, burning techniques, proper tools, optimal weather conditions, smoke management, liability management, planning, fire behavior and more. Training will take place April 28-30 in Florien, LA, and is limited to 25 participants. Call 337-463-7006 or email khawins@agcenter.lsu.edu to register or learn more.
