Tree Farm Tour and Awards Ceremony
Located at the headwaters of the St. Mary’s River in BakerCounty, South Prong Plantation encompasses over 2,400 acres of pine flatwoods, cypress swamps, and hydric hammock that is home to a wide variety of wildlife. While the primary objective on the property is high-quality wildlife habitat, the plantation also produces timber and is a great example of integrating these objectives. Prescribed fire is an important tool here and Doug has been involved in organizing the North Central Florida Prescribed Burn Association.
