The Forest Inventory and Analysis staff of the USDA Forest Service has developed tools to deliver the FIA National Inventory to the public. The National Inventory can be a valuable source of natural resources data, useful to professional foresters throughout the United States.

Week 1--January 25, 2011. Microsoft ACCESS Basics (Ralph Johnson, Jim Menlove).
- Introduction to the ACCESS database setting the foundation for use of the FIADB
- Build a simple database starting with forest tree inventory data in MS-EXCEL
- Make a query of the participant’s database
- Export data from ACCESS to EXCEL
- Save the database
- Start the download for the participant’s state. All download Indiana data
These workshops are open to all but you need to register at the Purdue Extension Education Store. Follow the registration link with Purdue University to receive more instructions. The webinars are free and each session has been approved for 1 SAF CFE credit. Participants will need MS_ACCESS on their PC and the online sessions will use Adobe-Connect. The sessions are interactive and class size is limited to 30.
