The Longleaf Alliance was created in 1995 with the express purpose of coordinating a partnership between private landowners, forest industries, state and federal agencies, conservation groups, researchers, and other enthusiasts interested in managing and restoring longleaf pine forests for their ecological and economic benefits. Its mission is to ensure a sustainable future for the longleaf pine ecosystem through partnerships, landowner assistance and science-based education and outreach.
SREF has worked with the LLA on several projects over the past few years including: web design, development and maintenance, a continuing education needs assessment, Longleaf Academy 2.0 webinars, and the development of an online Longleaf Economics course available for FREE and for professional CEUs at CFEGROUP.
