Purpose: Empower woodland owners to promote environmental and forest health through increased awareness, experience and access to resources.
Format: The webinars were delivered in February 2019, but they were archived, so they can still be accessed and delivered now. Lives sessions were 2 hours in length, including breaks, and the webinars are approximately 1.5 hours in length.
Locations: These webinars were archived and can be delivered however the host chooses. Live webinars were delivered to county Extension offices or other meeting spaces determined by the host.
Proposed Fee: There is no fee to host the course. A fee at the local level can be charged and collected by the host to cover cost such as food, local advertising, etc.

Getting to Know Your WoodlandsSouthern forests are among the most diverse and productive in the world. These forests have evolved over tens of thousands of years through natural as well as human forces. Today's Southern forests range from natural stands of hardwood, cypress, and pine to planted pines and even hardwoods from the mountains of Missouri and Virginia to the swamps of Louisiana and Florida. Landowners attending this session will learn how natural and human forces have shaped the forest in this region and the importance of this knowledge when developing management plans and practices on their forests. |

Identifying and Managing Woodland ThreatsThreats to your woodland can come in many sizes and shapes; disease, insects, invasive plants, and any combination of these three categories. In this session, our team of experts will introduce you to a few basic pest principles, present a model example of each threat, and offer some simple practices to help ensure your woodland remains healthy and productive. |

Wildlife and WoodlandsManaging wildlife is commonly ranked as a primary objective among landowners. This session will introduce participants to basic wildlife management principles and concepts and provide information on habitat requirements of various wildlife that occur across the region. |
