Urban Forestry South (UFS) works closely with universities, state forestry agencies, state and local U&CF programs, Cooperative Extension Service, and nonprofit organizations. Primary partners for Urban Forestry South include the Society of Municipal Arborists, the International Society of Arboriculture, the National Arbor Day Foundation, and the Southern Group of State Foresters. The primary focus includes:

- Urban Tree Canopy
- urban forestry environmental services
- green infrastructure
- disaster planning, mitigation, response, and recovery
- field technology for inventory & management (smartphones)
- management plan writing tool
SREF provides all web design, development and maintenance related activities for the Urban Forestry South website and web-based tools.
