Dobrowolski joins Agency as the National Program Leader
Dr. Peter Roussopoulos, USDA FS Southern Research Station recently passed along the following information: "Please join me in congratulating Carol Whitlock, our new Assistant Director for Science Delivery. With over 25 years of experience in research and development communications, Carol brings a wealth of knowledge to the position. Most recently as communications team lead, she has created a team that effectively anticipates and delivers information needed to ensure the sustainability of natural resources in the South. Carol has also increased public and private understanding and support of the Station's research and programs."
Dr. Robert D. Brown has been chosen to serve as the new dean of the College of Natural Resources at North Carolina State University. Brown currently serves as the director of the Institute of Renewable Natural Resources and head of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences at Texas A&M University.
Washington, D.C.: C.T. "Kip" Howlett, Jr. has been selected as the new Executive Director of the National Association of State Foresters (NASF) announced E. Austin Short III, President of the NASF Board of Directors and Delaware State Forester. "We are pleased to have the experience and background of Kip as our new Executive Director; his experience and background will help us to meet the growing challenges of achieving sustainable forests managed in the public interest," noted Mr. Short.
Charles "Chuck" Myers is returning to the Washington Office to become Associate Deputy Chief, National Forest System.
Mike Murphy will be the new Southern Region's Legacy Program Manager starting in February 2008.
James E. Henderson started his new position as Assistant Extension Professor of Forest Economics and Management in December 2007.
Dr. Randall Rousseau, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana recently started with the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service as their hardwood management Extension Forester.
June 30, 2006. Bob Daniels sent the Southern Regional Extension Forestry office the following email recently. We certainly wish Dr. Daniels the best in his retirement. A heartfelt thanks also goes out to him for all he has done for Extension, forestry, natural resources and especially youth throughout his career.
